Minges Coffee Roasting is a family business established in 1932, specializing in the production and distribution of coffee specialties. What Fritz Minges began over 90 years ago has been passed down to his descendants. Since 2013, Ulli Minges, the founder's grandson, has been managing the family business in the third generation, carrying on the tradition of coffee roasting with passion and pride.
1932
Fritz Minges opened a grocery store with its own roastery on Bamberg's Maximiliansplatz. In the following years, the company increasingly specialized in coffee, with the in-house roastery performing traditional, artisanal, long-term roasting. By the 1950s, Minges had established itself as a respected coffee roaster in the region, known for its high-quality products and continuous development in the coffee industry.
1953
Minges Kaffee was one of eleven coffee roasters in Bamberg, Franconia. In the 1950s, coffee culture in Germany experienced a boom, leading to increased demand and flourishing competition among local roasters. Minges Kaffee was able to assert itself in this environment and laid the foundation for the company's later expansion and success.
1983
Rolf Minges took over his father's business and pushed the company's specialization in coffee. In the 1980s, the company relocated to Breitengüßbach to meet growing demand. There, Minges increasingly focused on traditional drum roasting to further refine the quality and flavor of their coffees.

2013
Ulli Minges, grandson of founder Fritz Minges, took over the management of the company in the third generation. During this time, the company faced economic challenges but was able to expand its market position through strategic decisions and the support of long-term partners. Under Ulli Minges' leadership, the product range was further refined and adapted to modern coffee trends, while preserving the artisanal roasting tradition.
2018
The traditional Viennese coffee brand Alvorada became part of the Minges family. With this acquisition, the Minges coffee roastery expanded its portfolio to include the popular Alvorada products, known for their Austrian coffee tradition. By integrating Alvorada, Minges strengthened its market presence in German-speaking countries and combined German and Austrian coffee culture under one roof.

This innovative capsule was awarded the nova Innovation Award "Bio-based Material of the Year" that same year. By introducing this environmentally friendly alternative, Minges underscored its commitment to sustainability and set new standards in the coffee industry.
